On Wednesday, Microsoft said it has formalized a partnership with Cactus Commerce, an Ottawa-based ecommerce specialist with which the Redmond, Wash.-based vendor has been working for nearly a decade. Microsoft also revealed that the next version of Commerce Server, code-named Commerce Server 7, will be released in mid-2010. The speculation was that Commerce Server would be absorbed by Biztalk Server.
